I'm hoping to get a Patreon for myself someday, too, but I admit that I haven't been able to yet because I've still got room for improvement when it comes to deciding what kinds of rewards my patrons would get. My presence on the internet is inconsistent at best - some days I'm gaming the day away, other days I'm actually focusing on my art. It's been difficult for me to decide how to get a proper Patreon to help support my livelihood as an artist, gamer, and writer without coming across as "shady" or disingenuous.

If you have any advice regarding Patreon, I'm open to suggestions. I plan to get a day job to help provide a steady income in the meantime, but I also want a Patreon to help diversify my income and help me open up better opportunities that can allow me to basically really make my aspirations a very real possibility.

Thanks for the comment and best of luck setting up a Patreon. Admittedly I still only have a few patrons at the moment and I'm only making a little money from it, but apart from writing posts, it's stuff I'd have been doing anyway so it's not too strenuous and it's nice to have the extra support and motivation.

My best advice would be just to get started as soon as you can even it starts with just one reward for "general support and a thank you" before you're able to offer something more concrete, but it's important as you say to be consistent with content creation if you want to pursue it as an income stream. Definitely gotta exercise disipline with it, but the bulk of the creative work should hopefully be fun, and that's how I view my own Patreon at the moment; it's an income stream (even if only small) which justifies creativity and fun AND allows me to connect with fans a bit closer.

If you take a look at my Patreon page (link in post), you'll see that there are 3 rewards tiers, all fairly in depth, but you really don't need to go that far with it, and for some people, they'll sign up for the higher tiers less so for the rewards and more just because they want to support you and can afford it. I think it's important to be vocal about your Patreon in an organic way online and it's definitely worth making a plan and a big launch too (I actually need to re-launch my Patreon at some point since a lot's changed since I first started). The hardest part though is just getting started, so even if you don't start up just yet, if you really want to get started on Patreon even someday, make the first move TODAY by just signing up for an account, then you'll have made the first step at least and can chip away at things as and when you can :)

Hope that all helps and hopefully see you over on Patreon in the comments section or something! All the best!
